Technology Education
The Technology Education department offers courses that are designed to teach students a hands-on approach to learning, while partnered with the accompanied theory of how things work. Students will learn the basics of safety and develop skills that can lead to prosperous and in demand careers in Trades and Technology. In junior levels, students will be introduced to the safe use of tools and equipment, while creating a variety of exciting projects. Technology courses are designed to give the students the knowledge, confidence and skills that are the building blocks to their respective senior level courses. Students will demonstrate their learning through a variety of labs, projects and challenges. In senior years, the courses can become more specific and possibly more self-directed under the supervision of the instructors within parameters and guidelines.
Students at Queen Elizabeth have a great selection of elective courses in the Technology Education department with instructors that are passionate about the courses they teach. It is encouraged that each student takes at least one Technology Education course through their time at Queen Elizabeth to have some knowledge around tools, safety and how things are made/work.
Please refer to the Course Selection Handbook for further information and course options.
